Head of Design Management

Head of Design Management – The Netherlands CLIENT Linum Consult’s client is an international main contractor, urgently seeking a Dutch-speaking Head of Design Management to oversee their design teams on infrastructure and civil engineering projects in the Netherlands. RESPONSIBILITIES • Carrying out the strategic and operational leadership of all design activities within the Infrastructure Division • Ensuring a consistent, high-quality, and innovative design culture aligned with client requirements, legal and contractual frameworks, and internal quality and safety standards • Delivering safe, sustainable, and cost-efficient designs for complex infrastructure projects • Leading design teams and coordinators during both the tender and execution phases • Managing capacity planning and resource allocation for design activities • Coordinating with clients, engineering consultancies, and internal project teams ensuring great communication and collaboration between business units and stakeholders • Monitoring design budgets and contributing to tender cost estimates, and tracking KPIs

PROFILE • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction • At least 15 years’ experience in Design Management, ideally with a history of working with main contractors • History of working on significant civil engineering or infrastructure construction projects, particularly GWW, hydraulic engineering, nearshore marine & wind, etc. • Computer literate, with strong knowledge of BIM, Systems Engineering, sustainability and digitalisation (including digital twin, AI in design, etc.) • Very strong managerial skills • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written Dutch and English • The right to live and work in the EU
