Head of Engineering Adyen Protect

You lead four engineering teams responsible for Adyen Protect, an ML-first fraud prevention product suite. You set the technical strategy, scale infrastructure for model training and real-time scoring, maintain reliable low-latency systems, develop engineering leaders, and translate fraud patterns into technical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical roadmap for Adyen Protect
• Lead four multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Build and maintain infrastructure for model training and real-time scoring
• Establish engineering quality and reliability standards
• Ensure fraud detection systems remain resilient and low latency
• Partner with Product and Risk leaders on technical features and mitigation strategies
• Mentor engineers and engineering managers
• Engage global merchants to understand risk profiles and control needs

Requirements

• 7+ years of technical experience, including significant experience as a software or machine learning engineer
• 5+ years managing multiple engineering teams and other managers
• Experience managing high-throughput, low-latency products
• Experience with payments, cybersecurity, real-time bidding, or comparable high-scale systems
• Understanding of machine learning lifecycles from data engineering through deployment and monitoring
• Familiarity with fraud detection, risk management, or identity verification systems
