About the Role

Amel International Services Limited, a food manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering functions, ensuring equipment reliability, efficient plant operations, and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering functions.
• Oversee plant machinery, production equipment, utilities, and engineering infrastructure.
• Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
• Supervise troubleshooting and repairs of milling, mixing, packaging, conveying, and other process equipment.
• Manage electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, control panels, and industrial automation.
• Drive root cause analysis and improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Oversee machinery installation, commissioning, and integration.
• Manage maintenance planning, spare-parts availability, and engineering costs.
• Build and lead a competent engineering team.

Requirements

• B.Sc., B.Eng., or HND in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant industrial or manufacturing engineering experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Strong experience in FMCG, food processing, milling, sugar, salt, flour, or related manufacturing.
• Proven ability to manage mechanical and electrical engineering functions.
• Practical experience with process machinery, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems and engineering KPIs.
• Experience in equipment installation, commissioning, and plant expansion projects.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
