Head of Engineering

As Head of Engineering, you will lead the product engineering strategy and execution for the organization, working closely with the executive team, product managers, and other stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business objectives, market needs, and technical excellence. You will build, manage, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, providing leadership across various product development initiatives. As a hands-on leader, you will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, ensuring the delivery of robust, secure, and user-friendly crypto solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical vision and strategy for the platform
• Lead the engineering team to build scalable secure and high-performance features for the exchange
• Collaborate with executive leadership and product managers to create and refine the engineering roadmap
• Manage mentor and inspire a team of product engineers
• Recruit top talent and develop engineering leadership within the team
• Encourage cross-functional collaboration between engineering product UX/UI security and operations teams
• Oversee the end-to-end product engineering lifecycle from ideation to implementation
• Provide leadership in the architecture and design of scalable low-latency systems
• Drive continuous product improvements while ensuring regulatory compliance and security standards
• Ensure the platform is optimized for scalability high volumes of transactions and low latency
• Champion best practices in software engineering including automated testing continuous integration and monitoring
• Manage and improve the platform's infrastructure focusing on high availability redundancy and disaster recovery
• Implement best practices and industry standards for data protection AML and KYC compliance
• Lead initiatives to evaluate and enhance the platform's security posture
• Work with legal and compliance teams to align product development with regulatory requirements
• Drive adoption of new technologies and practices in fintech blockchain and digital asset exchanges
• Conduct research and development on trading algorithms risk management tools and blockchain integrations
• Establish and refine engineering processes to enhance efficiency transparency and collaboration
• Implement metrics and performance KPIs to measure engineering initiatives

Requirements

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in product engineering roles
• At least 5+ years in a leadership capacity managing engineering teams
• Proven track record of leading development of broker-dealer trading systems platforms or similar complex financial systems
• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency and digital asset markets trading systems and exchange architectures
• Experience building highly available low-latency and high-performance financial applications
• Expertise in software architecture and engineering best practices including microservices APIs and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with modern programming languages such as Ruby Python Go Java or C++
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS GCP or Azure and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with blockchain technology smart contracts and digital asset transaction systems
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools including CI/CD automated testing and monitoring
• Excellent leadership skills with a history of managing and growing engineering teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts
• Ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
