Head of Engineering

About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our engineering organization and drive the delivery. You will be responsible for software development, engineering processes, technical leadership, and execution across internal projects and client projects.

This role bridges business objectives and technical execution, ensuring scalable architecture, high-quality delivery, and effective collaboration across engineering, AI, DevOps,
The position reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and develop engineering teams across software development, AI engineering, and DevOps

• Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement

• Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and career development of technical talent

• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and technical governance

Delivery & Execution

• Own delivery planning and execution across product and client projects

• Establish and improve development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, release management, and delivery tracking

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at the expected quality level

• Manage engineering capacity and resource allocation

Technology & Architecture

• Define and maintain technology strategy aligned with business objectives

• Collaborate with AI and platform teams on architecture, scalability, security, and reliability

• Oversee cloud infrastructure and deployment practices

• Drive technical excellence and operational efficiency across the organization

Business Collaboration

• Partner with the CEO and C-level team to translate business priorities into engineering execution

• Support pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise and solution design

• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and delivery expectations

• Balance business goals, technical constraints, and team capacity
  

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a broad technical background across the full software development lifecycle (including frontend, backend, and infrastructure ecosystems)

• 3- 5 years of leadership experience managing cross-functional engineering teams.

• Experience in driving technical transformation and scaling operations within a stable, boutique software house

• Strong business acumen with a proven track record of supporting pre-sales, scoping client projects, and aligning technical delivery with commercial goals

• Proven track record of delivering complex software platforms or AI-enabled solutions in production

• Strong understanding of software architecture, engineering processes, and delivery management

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• C1/C2 English and native/C1+ Polish
  

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel 20–30%

• Availability to work on-site in Wrocław at least 3 days per months
