Head of Engineering

Engineering Leadership:
- Own the engineering team structure, hiring, performance, and growth of every engineer, including the two leads.
- Drive delivery at the company level, including idea-to-production cycle time, sprint completion, and the balance between features and maintenance.
- Manage product health and stability, including uptime and SLOs, change failure rate, time to recover, and the reliability of bookings and payments.
- Define technical direction, including an infrastructure that scales to thousands of studios and the roadmap to transition from the current monolith.
- Manage CI/CD, environments, observability, and incident response, with deploy on merge behind feature flags as the default path.
- Oversee security and data compliance, including PCI scope, access control, secrets, backups, and data protection across operating countries.
- Design and operate the agentic development system for the team, including repo context, reusable skills, agents for repetitive tasks, AI code review, and criteria for judging AI-produced code.
- Establish engineering standards and the bar in code review.
- Perform hands-on work when necessary, including PRs, architecture, and pairing when initiatives require rapid movement.

First 90 Days Goals:
- Day 30: Deliver a technical and team assessment with a prioritized plan.
- Day 30: Publish a reliability baseline including uptime, change failure rate, and time to recover.
- Day 30: Manage pods A, B, and C and ensure the CI accepted queue is clean.
- Day 60: Enable release without a release manager, utilizing deploy on merge, mandatory flags, and small PRs.
- Day 60: Agree on an infrastructure roadmap with the founders and begin initial steps.
- Day 60: Define DevOps scope.
- Day 90: Implement the agentic development system v1 across the team including skills, AI code review, and repo context.
- Day 90: Publish and improve velocity and stability metrics.

Location: Remote - Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay
