We are looking for Head of Engineering – Drone Systems!

The company's platforms combine advanced hardware, embedded systems, flight control, and AI to deliver high-performance solutions in the real world.

This is an full-time on-site position based in Valencia, Spain or Braszow, Romania (structured as 40% office-based work and 60% field work (including business trips and delegations).

Based on B2B contract (Autonomo in Spain) or Contract of Employment

Duties for this position:

• Define and own the overall technical architecture of drone platforms.

• Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electronics, embedded systems, flight control, and AI integration.

• Guide engineering teams on key technical decisions, trade-offs, and system design.

• Ensure strong integration across hardware and software components.

• Establish engineering standards, development practices, and technical guidelines.

• Identify technical risks early and define mitigation strategies.

• Work closely with leadership to align technical direction with product strategy.

• Support system validation, testing, and deployment readiness.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in aerospace, robotics, UAVs, or complex embedded systems.

• Strong background in systems engineering and hardware-software integration.

• Experience delivering complex technical systems from concept to deployment.

• Proven ability to guide senior engineers and influence technical direction.

• Strong technical judgment and decision-making ability.

• Excellent communication skills and leadership presence.

• Fluent English.

Nice to have:

• Experience in defense or dual-use technology.

• Experience with UAV autopilot stacks (PX4, ArduPilot, or similar).

• Exposure to AI or autonomy in robotics platforms.

• Experience working in fast-moving engineering environments.
