Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Lead an established engineering organization while remaining a working engineer, dividing time about equally between managing people and hands-on technical contribution. Set technical direction, work with senior leadership on planning, and help shape hiring plans for the coming months.

What you'll do

- Manage and develop engineers across infrastructure, platform and product, setting priorities and expectations for ownership.

- Contribute code personally and make key calls on system design and infrastructure for business-critical services, roughly half of your time.

- Guide technical choices for machine learning model development and deployment, weighing performance, spend and stability.

- Collaborate with the founders and the CTO to convert customer feedback into a clear roadmap and dependable delivery.

- Support the professional growth of your engineers through ongoing one-on-one conversations.

- Recruit and onboard new engineers as the organization expands.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Prior senior engineer, staff engineer or engineering manager experience at a high-growth B2B software startup.

- Present responsibility for managing a group of engineers.

- Active, current involvement in writing production code.

- Solid hands-on engineering ability across software design, architecture and infrastructure.

- A track record of leading engineering recruiting during a period of team growth.

Bonus points

- Experience with backend services, APIs, distributed systems and cloud platforms.

- Exposure to large-scale AI models, GPU-based infrastructure, model training or performance tuning for model serving.

- A degree from a leading STEM university.

- Base salary: USD 250,000 to 350,000 per year
