Head of Finance
About the company
We are an established and growing Spanish technology company specialising in digital solutions, with a recurring revenue business model.
As part of an international software group, we combine the autonomy and agility and close-knit culture of a local company with the resources, processes and development opportunities of an international organisation.
We are entering a new stage of development and are looking for a Head of Finance to lead the finance function and support our next phase of growth.
The role
Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with Group Finance, you will take full ownership of financial planning, reporting, control and business analysis.
You will lead an established finance team and become the company’s key financial point of reference for the Managing Director and leadership team.
We are particularly interested in experienced Finance Managers, Senior Financial Controllers or Heads of Finance ready to take full ownership of a finance function within a technology company.
Key responsibilities
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting, including rolling forecasts and scenario planning.
Own monthly financial reporting and performance analysis.
Analyse actuals against budget and forecast, identifying deviations and key drivers.
Prepare and coordinate financial reporting with the international group.
Ensure high-quality accounting, controls and month-end/year-end closing.
Coordinate external audits and financial compliance requirements.
Ensure alignment with Group accounting policies, reporting standards and processes.
Monitor cash flow, working capital and overall financial performance.
Lead, develop and support the finance team.
Provide clear financial insights to support management decision-making.
Continuously improve and automate finance processes, reporting and forecasting.
What we are looking for
6+ years of relevant experience in finance, controlling, FP&A or audit.
Experience as Finance Manager, Senior Financial Controller, Head of Finance or similar.
Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.
Solid accounting knowledge and experience with financial controls and audits.
Experience within an international group or reporting to an international parent company.
Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
Experience with ERP, reporting and Business Intelligence tools.
Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to communicate financial information clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
A proactive, pragmatic and hands-on mindset.
Experience in SaaS, software, technology or subscription-based businesses is highly valued but not essential.
Why join us?
This is not a traditional CFO role focused on fundraising, M&A or corporate strategy. You will have full ownership of a lean finance function within an established technology company, combining entrepreneurial autonomy with the structure and international exposure of a major software group.
You will play an important role in ensuring the company’s next stage of growth is properly planned, measured and controlled.
What we offer
A key finance leadership position.
Direct interaction with the Managing Director and senior leadership team.
Regular exposure to an international finance organisation.
High autonomy and ownership.
An experienced finance team.
The opportunity to improve and automate the finance function.
A technology-driven and entrepreneurial environment.
Competitive compensation based on experience: €40K–€60K.
For confidentiality reasons, the company’s identity will be disclosed to selected candidates during the early stages of the recruitment process.
We are committed to equal opportunities and a workplace free from discrimination. We value diversity and assess candidates solely on their experience, skills and suitability for the role.
