Summary
Oversee health, safety, and environmental programs at a luxury resort, ensuring compliance, managing waste, and driving sustainability initiatives.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Head of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) to support the resort’s sustainability and environmental management initiatives.
This role is responsible for supervising daily waste management operations, supporting environmental compliance, and assisting with sustainability programs within the property. The position also plays an important role in maintaining environmental performance records and supporting certification requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) operations across the property.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Oversee emergency response, fire & life safety, and business continuity programs.
- Monitor environmental performance, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead HSE audits, inspections, and certification processes.
- Collaborate with department heads to promote a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Current or previous experience as Head of HSE, HSE Manager, Health & Safety Manager, EHS Manager, Safety Manager, Environment Manager, Risk & Compliance Manager, or in a similar leadership role.
- Experience in waste management, environmental operations, or sustainability programs, preferably in hospitality, facility management, integrated resorts, or large commercial properties.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), environmental regulations, waste management, fire & life safety, emergency response, risk assessment, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience developing and implementing HSE policies, SOPs, audits, inspections, emergency response plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience leading HSE training, safety awareness programs, and cross-functional safety initiatives.
- Familiar with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, HACCP, and local HSE regulations.
- Familiarity with wastewater treatment processes and sustainability standards is an advantage.
- Strong coordination, communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Hospitality industry experience is highly preferred. Candidates from large commercial properties, mixed-use developments, airports, healthcare, or multinational organizations with transferable HSE experience are also encouraged to apply.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, AK3 Umum, or equivalent HSE certifications are an advantage.
