Description

Head of Information Security

$170,000 - 185,000 | Nassau County, NY | Onsite

You've spent years protecting businesses from technology risk. Now imagine having the influence to shape how an entire organisation approaches cybersecurity, AI and its digital future.

If you're an experienced IT leader ready to move beyond managing systems and security programmes, this newly created position offers something different: the opportunity to establish a strategic function with genuine visibility at senior leadership level.
You'll join an established, regulated business backed by a larger corporate organisation, taking ownership of cybersecurity governance, enterprise AI strategy and technology risk.
What makes this opportunity different? You'll shape the strategy, not just deliver it.
  • Own cybersecurity governance. Set the direction for security frameworks, technology risk, SOX IT controls, PCI DSS compliance and audit readiness.
  • Put AI strategy into practice. Help the business adopt AI responsibly, establishing governance, protecting sensitive information and exploring integration with enterprise platforms such as NetSuite.
  • Have a voice where decisions are made. Reporting directly to the VP Finance, you'll advise senior leadership and collaborate with Corporate Technologies on strategic priorities and investment.
  • Build capability, not another large IT department. Mentor an existing Systems Administrator, helping them develop broader cybersecurity expertise.
  • Focus on the bigger picture. Partner with an established Director of IT who owns infrastructure and operational technology, allowing you to concentrate on governance, strategy and business risk.
Is this your next move? You'll bring senior IT leadership experience, with the ability to connect cybersecurity, compliance and technology investment to wider business objectives.
You'll understand security frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001, have practical experience with SOX IT controls and regulated environments, and be comfortable shaping AI governance and technology risk decisions.
Just as importantly, you'll be someone who can influence senior stakeholders, challenge constructively and translate technical complexity into sound commercial decisions.
