Head of Legal

Own the day-to-day legal function for a fast-moving Bitcoin-based DeFi protocol, advising on regulatory, commercial, corporate, and operational matters while assessing risks and identifying compliant paths forward.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor across the business.
• Advise on regulatory questions involving custody, vaults, borrowing, lending, yield products, multisig, smart-contract control, and token or protocol structuring.
• Support commercial, corporate, and operational legal needs.
• Handle contracts and corporate matters.
• Assess risk pragmatically and help the business find compliant paths forward.

Requirements

• Several years of in-house legal experience at a crypto or Web3 company.
• Experience serving as the primary legal contact for a business.
• Real DeFi exposure.
• Strong understanding of Bitcoin, BTC, and self-custody.
• Understanding of legal questions related to lending, borrowing, and yield products on Bitcoin.
• Sound judgment in developing legal areas.
• Generalist legal background.
• Self-starter and doer mentality.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
