Head of Marketing
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Marketing based in United States.
This is a high-impact marketing leadership role focused on building a modern go-to-market engine for a growing advertising technology platform. You will shape brand positioning, demand generation, communications, content, events, and the overall market presence of a rapidly evolving product. The role combines strategic ownership with hands-on execution, giving you significant autonomy over priorities, channels, budget, and external partners. You will build direct pipeline across high-value SMB verticals while supporting product launches and expansion into new markets. Success will be measured through pipeline, revenue contribution, win-back performance, marketing efficiency, and increased market visibility. Working within a lean, remote-first team, you will collaborate closely with sales, revenue operations, and customer success to turn marketing into a measurable growth driver.
Accountabilities
- Own the overall marketing strategy, brand positioning, and competitive differentiation for the product portfolio, ensuring messaging evolves alongside new features, capabilities, and target markets.
- Build and operate a full-funnel demand generation engine targeting SMB verticals such as home services, legal, automotive, and quick-service restaurants, covering target accounts, outbound, inbound, paid media, SEO/SEM, email, lifecycle marketing, and supporting content.
- Develop strategies to generate net-new pipeline and revenue through multiple channels while determining when capabilities should be built internally versus supported by specialized contractors or external partners.
- Manage existing outbound resources during the transition to a scalable demand generation model and develop business cases for future internal hiring or additional external support.
- Create and execute win-back campaigns for churned accounts in partnership with Sales, Customer Success, and Account Management, using customer insights and churn drivers to refine messaging.
- Lead PR and communications initiatives, including earned media, bylined articles, thought leadership, speaking opportunities, and communications around major product launches and business milestones.
- Own the event strategy from research and annual planning through vendor selection, contract negotiation, budgeting, logistics, onsite execution, and post-event pipeline evaluation.
- Lead the evolution of the website's positioning, tone, structure, and user experience while directing external development resources and contracted creative support.
- Establish the strategy and voice for LinkedIn and other social channels, creating informed thought leadership grounded in strong knowledge of advertising technology, programmatic media, and Connected TV.
- Direct AI-assisted content production and external creative resources rather than personally executing every individual asset.
- Build and manage the marketing budget across demand generation, events, content, brand, technology, vendors, and future headcount, providing leadership with clear rationale and expected business outcomes.
- Forecast marketing-sourced pipeline and measure performance against targets, partnering with Revenue Operations to establish reporting that connects marketing activity to pipeline, revenue, and win-back performance.
- Present regular performance updates to executive leadership, explaining variances, identifying opportunities, and recommending where to increase or reduce investment.
- Partner closely with Sales and Revenue Operations on lead scoring, routing, target account selection, database quality, campaign strategy, and messaging alignment.
- Work with Customer Success and Account Management to understand churn patterns and incorporate customer insights into retention and win-back initiatives.
- Direct the work of contracted creative resources and build the business case for additional marketing hires as demand generation scales.
- Establish measurable success metrics covering marketing-sourced pipeline, revenue, win-back rates, event efficiency, forecast accuracy, spend efficiency, external visibility, website evolution, and speed to market for product and go-to-market launches.
- 7+ years of B2B marketing experience with direct ownership of demand generation, pipeline, and revenue outcomes rather than a primary focus on brand or content alone.
- Strong fluency in adtech, programmatic advertising, Connected TV, or related media technology, ideally gained within an agency, DSP, media, or advertising technology environment.
- Demonstrated experience shaping go-to-market strategies for product launches, feature releases, repositioning initiatives, or expansion into new verticals.
- Proven experience owning a marketing budget with P&L or financial accountability and managing multi-channel demand generation across paid, organic, email, outbound, events, and content.
- Strong track record of building PR and communications programs, increasing external visibility, and developing thought leadership opportunities.
- Experience forecasting marketing performance and reporting pipeline contribution, efficiency, and business impact to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate vendor contracts and manage external partners, including event teams, web developers, designers, and marketing specialists.
- Experience working with CRM and marketing operations platforms, preferably HubSpot, including lead scoring, routing, reporting, and database management.
- Experience building, mentoring, and managing lean marketing teams and external resources.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with a willingness to execute in a hands-on, build-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and operate in a fast-moving, remote-first environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong understanding of marketing metrics, pipeline economics, channel performance, customer acquisition, and spend efficiency.
- Ability to translate complex product and market concepts into compelling positioning, messaging, content, and campaigns.
- Annual base salary of $155,000–$180,000 USD.
- Annual variable compensation paid quarterly based on performance.
- Typical total compensation range of $180,000–$215,000 USD.
- Equity participation for all new hires.
- Comprehensive healthcare benefits, including medical, vision, and dental coverage at 100% for employees and 50% for dependents.
- Fully remote work environment.
- Remote working stipend.
- Flexible PTO, allowing employees to take time off when needed.
- Coffee or tea subscription.
- Monthly three-day weekends.
- Opportunity to take significant ownership of a growing marketing function and directly influence pipeline, revenue, and market expansion.
- Collaboration with a high-performing, distributed team across multiple time zones.
- Opportunity to help scale a product-led business and shape its market presence, positioning, and growth engine.
