Head of Operations
Description
Location: Remote (U.S.-based) Commitment: Full-time Type: W-2 employee
About MiraMace
Mira Mace pairs Medicare beneficiaries with a dedicated healthcare advocate who navigates appointments, insurance, and care coordination on their behalf. Our customers get the support of caring nurses while AI agents handle the tedious backend work, all covered by Medicare.
We've felt the pain ourselves: the endless back-and-forth with insurance, surprise bills, and the lack of clarity when you just need answers. Too many people fall through the cracks, and we're determined to change that.
Today, 24/7 personalized health assistance is only available to the rich or the extremely sick. Our vision is for everyone to be able to afford a health assistant who knows their health history deeply, navigates the healthcare system on their behalf, and helps them become the healthiest version of themselves.
Our founding team brings technical experience from Microsoft, Google, Meta and Amazon, and startup experience from bootstrapped ventures to Series D scale-ups. We're backed by Foundation Capital, Define Ventures and Silicon Valley angel investors.
About the Role
As Head of Operations, you own the machine that delivers Mira's care: how patients get enrolled and onboarded, how Care Advocates are hired, trained and staffed, how clinicians are credentialed, and how care turns into revenue. Today, too much of that runs on people working heroically. Your job is to make it run on systems, so that every week's results are predictable before the week starts.
You'll get a lot of autonomy and no handholding. If a number slips, you'll be the first to know and the one who fixes it, permanently.
Who You Are
You've done strategy and operations at fast-growing, leading tech companies.
You have a background in fast-paced, ops-heavy environments such as McKinsey, BCG or Bain.
You build systems, not workarounds. When something breaks twice, you find the root cause, redesign the process and add a metric so it can't quietly break again.
You move first and refine as you go. You'll make a good decision today rather than a perfect one next month.
You treat every problem in your area as yours. You don't wait for permission, a full spec or another meeting.
You're energized by real urgency. Your best work has come when the stakes were high and the timeline was short.
You live in the numbers and in the details, and you hold yourself and others to a high bar.
What You'll Do
Work with the COO to build the engine of the company: getting patients enrolled, growing our provider and Care Advocate teams, and the workflows underneath each. Scale all three while raising the bar on quality, never trading one for the other.
Work closely with engineering so our internal systems are held to the same standard of rigor as the products our customers use.
Work with our compliance and our credentialing and enrollment teams so providers are ready to see patients and operations meet CMS requirements.
Turn messy, people-dependent work into documented, measured, repeatable processes.
Build the capacity plan: how many advocates and clinicians we need, where, and when, ahead of demand.
Find the bottleneck that matters most each week, fix it, and move on to the next one.
Build and lead the operations team as Mira scales.

Name, Email, Resume
- Tell us about the most important operating system you've built, such as a process, a capacity plan or a workflow. What was broken before, what did you build, and what did the key metric look like before and after?
- Tell us about a time you scaled something fast without letting quality slip. What grew, by how much, and what did you put in place to keep quality from dropping?
- On day one you have three engines to run: getting patients enrolled, growing our provider and Care Advocate teams, and the workflows under each. What do you look at in your first 30 days, and what's the first system you'd build?
- Describe a financial model or prototype you built yourself that changed a decision. If you used Claude Code or a similar AI tool, tell us how. Include a link if you can share one.
- Tell us about a high-stakes decision you made with incomplete information and a hard deadline. What did you decide, how long did it take, and what happened?
- School(s), degree(s) and graduation year(s).
- Which consulting firm were you at, for how long, and what was your last title? Then list the tech companies where you've led strategy or operations, with your title and team size.
