Head of Platform

You will own the Platform domain end-to-end, defining the platform strategy, leading a cross-functional engineering organization, establishing engineering standards, and ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, and highly available. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends technical expertise, product ownership, and operational excellence. You'll take charge of custody infrastructure, compliance capabilities, and platform reliability, while mentoring engineers and driving architectural decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Own the Platform domain as an internal product serving multiple product teams
• Define the platform strategy, roadmap, priorities, and success metrics
• Drive platform scalability, reliability, and engineering excellence
• Own custody infrastructure, including Fireblocks, Uphold, and similar providers
• Ensure secure asset storage, withdrawals, deposits, and fund movements
• Improve operational reliability across wallet infrastructure
• Own KYC, Travel Rule, and compliance-related platform capabilities
• Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory readiness, including MiCA requirements
• Improve verification flows and customer onboarding performance
• Define and maintain platform SLA and uptime targets
• Establish incident management, monitoring, and operational excellence processes
• Improve deployment reliability and platform resilience
• Lead a cross-functional platform team
• Mentor engineers and technical leads
• Drive architectural decisions and engineering standards
• Build a strong engineering culture focused on quality and ownership
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Operations teams
• Introduce and scale inner-source engineering practices across product teams
• Support strategic platform initiatives and future technology migrations

Requirements

• 3+ years leading platform, infrastructure, or core engineering teams
• Experience owning shared platform services used by multiple product teams
• Strong experience in fintech, payments, digital banking, crypto, or financial infrastructure
• Practical experience with custody platforms such as Fireblocks or similar solutions
• Deep understanding of KYC providers, Travel Rule, AML, and regulatory compliance
• Experience defining and managing platform reliability, SLA, uptime, and incident management processes
• Strong Node.js background with the ability to review architecture and production code
• Experience building and scaling engineering organizations
• Experience owning platform budgets, roadmaps, and business priorities
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
