Head of Procurement (Retail/F&B/Hospitality)
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement the overall procurement strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives, growth plans, and operational requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish procurement policies, processes, and governance frameworks to ensure best-in-class procurement practices.
- Drive procurement transformation initiatives, leveraging digitalization, automation, and process optimization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Category & Supplier Management
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle across all spend categories, including F&B, consumables, indirect procurement, marketing, technology, facilities management, capital expenditure (CAPEX), and corporate services.
- Develop category strategies to optimize cost, quality, service levels, and supplier performance.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, tender exercises, contract negotiations, and supplier onboarding activities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, strategic partners, and stakeholders to ensure long-term value creation.
Commercial & Cost Optimization
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, value engineering initiatives, and procurement efficiencies across the organization.
- Lead high-value commercial negotiations to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, rebates, and service agreements.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and industry developments to manage procurement risks proactively and opportunities.
- Deliver annual cost reduction and productivity targets while ensuring business continuity and service excellence.
Contract Management & Governance
- Oversee the preparation, negotiation, review, and management of supplier contracts and service agreements.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Establish robust contract management processes to ensure supplier compliance, performance monitoring, and risk mitigation.
- Drive ethical sourcing practices and maintain strong governance across procurement activities.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Operations, F&B, Marketing, Finance, Technology, Facilities, and other business functions to understand procurement requirements and align sourcing strategies.
- Support business expansion initiatives, including new openings, refurbishment projects, and operational enhancement programs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on procurement strategy, market intelligence, and supply chain risks.
Inventory, Supply Chain & Operational Excellence
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of goods and services across all locations while optimizing inventory levels and working capital.
- Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve demand planning, replenishment, and inventory management processes.
- Drive supplier performance management initiatives through regular reviews, KPIs, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply disruptions and ensure business continuity.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Develop and monitor procurement KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to track procurement performance and savings realization.
- Prepare and present regular procurement performance reports, cost analyses, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Continuously review procurement processes and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional procurement certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are highly preferred.
- Minimum 10-15 years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing end-to-end procurement operations.
- Proven experience leading procurement functions across multiple spend categories within retail, hospitality, FMCG, F&B, entertainment, or other consumer-facing industries.
- Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, cost optimization, and procurement transformation initiatives.
