Head of Product
Description
About the Company
Our client runs one of the most widely used public safety platforms in the U.S. Millions of people use its mobile app to get real-time alerts about what's happening around them, and organizations such as cities, hospitals and universities use its enterprise tools to respond faster to incidents. The company is backed by top-tier venture firms and is now reshaping how it operates around AI from the top down, which makes this a pivotal moment to join.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on product leadership role reporting directly to the Founder & CEO. You won't be managing a team of product managers. You'll do the work yourself, using AI agents to handle much of the research, documentation and analysis a larger PM team would normally cover. You'll own the full product portfolio: the consumer app, the paid subscription, and the enterprise and API offerings. Your mandate is to simplify a product that has grown quickly over the years into one clear, connected experience.
What you'll do:
- Shape the product strategy and roadmap across consumer, subscription, enterprise and API, bringing years of added features into one cohesive experience
- Grow user activation, retention and engagement in the consumer app
- Own subscription pricing, packaging and the upgrade path, and the consumer revenue that comes with them
- Lead the enterprise and API product strategy, including partner integrations with public safety and security teams
- Set up and refine AI agent workflows for customer research, competitive analysis, specs, experiment design and forecasting
- Define the core metrics, run experiments and tie product decisions directly to revenue
What We're Looking For
- 5–12 years of product experience, including time as a lead or principal PM or as a founder
- A hands-on builder who owns product end to end, from UX and metrics to talking with customers, rather than someone who mainly manages PMs
- Practical experience building and using AI agents in your day-to-day product work, beyond basic prompting
- A background in consumer products (mobile, subscription or product-led growth) and time at a startup or small company
- Strong analytical and experimentation skills across conversion, retention and pricing
- Able to work on-site 5 days a week in New York City
- Authorized to work in the U.S. (visa transfers such as OPT or H1B considered)
Nice to have: prior founder experience or product leadership at an AI-first company; experience pricing and packaging enterprise or API products; confidence challenging leadership with data; interest in eventually mentoring a junior PM.
Benefits: Competitive equity.
