Qualification and experience required
- Local candidates preferred
- Experience with power grid and solar
- Engineering degree is a must (mechanical or electrical), preferably a master in energy or related field
- 10 years of experience in rooftop solar projects execution and solar engineering
- Proven track record of project lifecycle management from EPC tendering to the start of operations
- Leadership experience in managing a diverse team
- Rigorous, organized and able to prioritize tasks and initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle complex situations and work under pressure
- Ability and willingness to travel as assigned
- Knowledge of solar specific software (Helioscope, Meteonorm, PVSyst) is highly desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills in English and the local language
Activities
The Head of Project Management is responsible for:
Customer management- Lead technical communication with the customer during execution and sometimes during pre-sales
- Deliver the project in line with contract terms and conditions precedent
- Hold regular progress meetings and manage customer acceptance up to commercial operation date (COD)
- Manage EPC tendering, bill of materials review, contractor selection, and due diligence
- Optimize the capex (e.g. firm EPC quote) at pre-sales phase, to be in line with the local market prices
- Ensure building structure and rooftop are fully compliant with company guidelines before starting project construction
- Obtain engineering approvals and secure internal contract validations
- Negotiate and manage EPC contracts, budgets, delays, bonds, liquidated damages, and contract closure
- Ensure site readiness, structural compliance, and full adherence to health, safety, and environment (HSE) and company standards
- Oversee permitting, licensing, monthly budgets, and avoid variation orders
- Ensure accurate as-built documentation and evaluate EPC performance
- Conduct site inspections and qualify new EPC contractors
- Coordinate smooth handover to O&M prior to project completion
- Provide full documentation, performance ratio tests, and as-built PVsyst reports
- Support O&M in resolving issues during the EPC defects liability period
- Optimize designs with the Design Centre based on site conditions
- Anticipate risks and ensure insurance, permits, licenses, and approvals are in place on time
- Maintain project data in company tools and drive CAPEX and performance optimization
- Ensure effective internal handovers and collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and O&M for invoicing, COD, and certificates
- Contribute actively to the regional project management team and to the country team
- Interact with teams at APAC Hub and headquarters to share best practices and improve country projects execution efficiency
