Head of RF Engineering
Description
About the Role
Lead RF engineering for a high-power directed energy system designed to defend against drone threats. You will join a small defense technology team as a hands-on individual contributor, shaping the system architecture and helping grow the RF team as the company scales.
What You'll Do
Develop clean-sheet RF system architectures and take designs through design for manufacturing and production.
Design and validate high-power RF systems, antenna systems, phased arrays, and related components.
Use first-principles engineering to solve system-level RF challenges.
Run hands-on lab and test work, including measurements with signal generators and vector network analyzers.
Support production readiness through testing and EMI/EMC considerations, then help build out the RF engineering team.
What We're Looking For
5 to 12 years of RF engineering experience, including hands-on individual-contributor design work.
Experience taking a clean-sheet RF lineup through DFM and into production.
Deep experience with high-power RF and metal analog RF, alongside experience in RF system design, antenna systems, MMIC design, or electromagnetics.
Experience with phased arrays, whether at the full-system or component level, and high-power GaN power amplifiers.
Familiarity with HFSS, antenna design and simulation, VNA and signal generator testing, anechoic chamber testing, and EMI/EMC.
A portfolio of shipped products or hands-on hardware projects, and eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
