We are owned by the leading Private Equity company, EQT, and have grown +100% year-on-year since 2020. Our US operation is headquartered in Atlanta and our global headquarter is in London. From here, we service our partners, including eBay, Amazon, GrubHub, Shopify, and Stripe.
The role
As the Head of Sales, you will take full ownership of managing, building, and leading the US sales team scaling rapidly over the next 12 months. The team is responsible for supporting new and existing merchants throughout their revenue-based financing journey.
Your primary objective will be to drive strong conversion and funded volume while delivering an excellent customer experience, measured through metrics including Trustpilot and NPS. You will build a high-performing team, develop the management structure required for scale, and create the processes and operating rhythms needed to support rapid growth.
You will work closely with Partnerships, Product, Commercial and Risk/Underwriting to improve the end-to-end application journey, strengthen existing partner performance and successfully go-to-market with new partners and improve the overall merchant experience.
This is a build-and-scale role, focused on improving performance, processes and efficiencies across the US market. You will operate with significant ownership, building a high-performing team and delivering against ambitious targets. You will stay close to the detail, using data and a strong understanding of the end-to-end application journey to identify opportunities, streamline processes, improve conversion and enhance the overall merchant experience. We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent people skills, and who can move quickly to turn insights into measurable improvements.
- Take full ownership of the US Sales team, delivering strong conversion, funded volume, partner service and customer outcomes.
- Build and scale the team, hiring, developing and retaining high-performing salespeople and managers as the business grows.
- Build the management structure, processes and ways of working required to operate effectively at scale. Create a high-performance culture through clear targets, coaching, performance management and continuous development.
- Own and continuously improve sales KPIs and performance, using data to identify opportunities, address performance gaps and drive growth and efficiency.
- Identify and remove bottlenecks across the application and funding journey to improve conversion and the overall merchant experience.
- Collaborate closely with Partnerships, Commercial and Risk/Underwriting to improve existing partner performance and successfully launch new partnerships.
- Act as a change leader, implementing and embedding improvements quickly and effectively as the business scales with minimal disruption and strong adoption.
The ideal candidate will have the following skillset:
- A strong track record of building, scaling and leading high-performing sales teams, ideally having grown a team from ~15 people to 40-50+ in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Experience managing large teams (15+), including managers, with a strong track record of coaching, developing and mentoring both individual contributors and leaders.
- 3+ years’ experience in fintech, SME lending, revenue-based financing, MCA or another relevant financial services environment, ideally within a high-growth startup or scale-up.
- A builder mentality, being comfortable creating the structure, processes and management layers needed as an organization scales rapidly.
- Experience operating in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment, with the ability to thrive through ambiguity, changing priorities and rapid growth.
- Strong commercial judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to identify opportunities and make effective decisions.
- You are hands-on, proactive, and action oriented - You push projects forward, remove blockers, and get things done.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and bring teams with you through change.
- A proven change leader, able to implement new processes and ways of working quickly and effectively.
Nice-to-have: Experience with SQL, Python, R or other analytical tools, and/or experience within the US financing market.
