Head of Sourcing
We are looking for a commercially driven and strategic Head of Sourcing to lead and develop sourcing activities across McDonald’s Nordic organization.
This is a newly shaped leadership role, created as part of an exciting transformation to expend a more centralized, commercially driven, and future-oriented sourcing organization across the Nordics.
As Head of Sourcing, you will have end-to-end responsibility for sourcing across all food and paper categories, ensuring cost efficiency, supply continuity, and full compliance with McDonald’s global standards.
You will lead and develop a team of sourcing professionals, drive supplier strategies, and play a key role in shaping a best-in-class sourcing function. Working closely with internal stakeholders, franchisees, and suppliers, you will deliver sustainable sourcing solutions that balance quality, cost, risk, and long-term value.
Unlike traditional procurement roles, this position focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, and commercial leadership, while transactional procurement is managed externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the Nordic sourcing strategy aligned with business and sustainability goals
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sourcing team
- Own end-to-end sourcing, including tenders, negotiations, and supplier selection
- Build and maintain strong, strategic supplier relationships
- Drive cost optimization and manage ingredient cost performance
- Identify and mitigate sourcing risks (e.g. supply disruptions, commodity volatility, FX)
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and McDonald’s sourcing requirements
- Provide forecasting, insights, and decision support to leadership and Finance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and franchisees
- Drive continuous improvement and sustainable sourcing initiatives
Your Profile
We believe you are a commercially driven sourcing leader with strong experience from strategic sourcing or supply chain environments within retail, FMCG, food service, or similar industries.
You combine a strategic mindset with strong execution capability, and you are confident leading teams, negotiating with suppliers, and influencing stakeholders across a complex organization.
To succeed in this role, you likely have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Extensive experience within sourcing, procurement, or category management
- Proven leadership experience and ability to develop teams
- Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Experience working in complex, fast-paced environments
- A proactive, self-driven, and structured approach
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English and one Nordic language
- Experience from the McDonald’s system is considered a strong advantage
