Build the tech behind Australia’s next great food company.
The Ahara Group runs some of Australia’s leading healthy food brands, including Macros, Soulara, Nuchef and vEEF. We cook thousands of meals a week from our Castle Hill kitchen and deliver nationally through our own D2C platforms and major retailers.
We’re an AI-first business. We’ve built our own operations platform, Rocket Kitchen, which already runs live forecasting from real-time sales data, and we use AI across customer service, procurement and marketing. Now we need one person to own all of it.
The role
You’ll be our most senior technology leader, reporting directly to the CEO. You’ll own every system in the business and lead a small onshore and offshore team of engineers and analysts. This is a hands-on role. You’ll set the direction and you’ll write code.
What you’ll own
Our D2C e-commerce and subscription platforms, including our move from Shopify to custom-built platforms
Rocket Kitchen, our in-house operations system for forecasting, production, procurement and logistics
Bringing AI into everyday operations: demand forecasting, pricing, menu creation, customer service and agentic commerce
Integrations across ERP, payments, email, logistics and marketing tools
Launching new brands and platforms quickly and reliably
Leading, mentoring and holding a lean tech team to account
About you
5+ years in software engineering, with recent experience leading tech in a D2C, subscription or e-commerce business
Strong hands-on skills with Shopify, subscription billing (Recharge or similar), APIs and integrations
You’ve led a platform or payments migration and know what can go wrong
You use AI tools every day (Claude, Cursor, agents) and have shipped AI features into production
Comfortable managing offshore team members
You’d rather ship something this week than plan it for a quarter
Food, FMCG or logistics experience is a bonus
