Summary

Head of Test Field leads team managing field testing of autonomous robotic systems, ensuring safety, consistency, and traceability. Core technologies include robotics, mechanical, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Process Discipline
  • Directly manage, mentor, and evaluate a team of test engineers and technicians, ensuring clear task delegation and highly structured workflows.
  • Establish and enforce a culture of strict discipline, accountability, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols across all field activities.
  • Develop, systematize, and enforce rigorous testing procedures to ensure maximum consistency, safety, and traceability of all operations.
  • Organize and conduct complex technical training, including repair and maintenance procedures and exercises for operators and technical personnel.
Field Testing & Operations
  • Develop and implement field testing methodologies, validation procedures, and acceptance criteria for autonomous robotic systems and their mechanical and control subsystems.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct internal, field, and operational tests for unmanned ground platforms.
  • Note: A significant portion of your work will involve field testing and product trials at proving grounds/proving fields across Ukraine under various weather and environmental conditions.
Analysis & Engineering Collaboration
  • Analyze, document, and systematize testing results, preparing detailed technical reports and recommendations for both mechanical and control subsystems.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware and software engineers to validate new features and drive continuous system improvements.
  • Participate in the development, evaluation, and implementation of new technical solutions aimed at improving overall system performance and reliability.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of technical issues identified during testing and operation.

Qualifications

Leadership & Structural Competencies
  • Proven track record in direct people management, including building, structuring, and leading technical teams in highly dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to procedural compliance, with a strong ability to instill discipline and maintain a highly organized, predictable working environment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with experience managing teams and coordinating personnel in complex, multitasking environments.
Technical Experience & Skills
  • A proven track record with 3+ years of experience in a similar role, such as hardware testing, robotics validation, or field engineering.
  • Strong experience in developing testing methodologies and validation processes for complex mechanical and control systems is a must.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical circuit faults is a must.
  • Experience in creating technical documentation, executing structured analysis, and reporting test results.
  • Proven experience in organizing and conducting technical trainings for direct users.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
General Requirements
  • Willingness to travel extensively for business trips across Ukraine.
  • Both a valid driver’s license and driving experience on a mechanical (manual) gearbox are mandatory.
  • Technical education in mechatronics, electronics, mechanics, or related fields, as well as a background in robotics, will be a plus.
