Head of UA/PPC (Google Ads)
A-Players is looking for an experienced Head of UA/PPC to take full ownership of paid acquisition for our web subscription products, leading both hands-on execution on Google Ads and team management across multiple product domains.
This is a player-coach role: you'll personally fix current inefficiencies in live campaigns while building and scaling the team and function, including the automation and martech stack that powers it.
A great opportunity to own a large-scale channel end-to-end, work directly with a General Manager on strategy, and build a team of domain leads under you.
Responsibilities:
Own the full paid acquisition function on Google Ads across multiple web subscription product domains - from hands-on campaign fixes to team strategy
Personally launch, optimize, and scale Search / PMax campaigns, and dive in hands-on wherever the team needs it
Drive web-based paid acquisition (traffic → landing → subscription), owning the full funnel
Build and own automation systems and the martech stack for the UA function, with an AI-first approach to tooling, testing, and process
Build, hire, and develop a team of domain-focused senior UA/PPC managers, including full-cycle people management (hiring, growth, performance, compensation)
Own annual/quarterly budget planning and traffic diversification strategy for paid acquisition
Partner closely with the GM, Growth, and Analytics teams on a data-driven approach - post-click metrics, cohort analysis, LTV modeling, unit economics
Identify and fix operational inefficiencies in existing campaigns as a first priority upon joining
Build testing frameworks and drive operational excellence and process development across the UA function.
What we look for:
Proven experience in a Head / Team Lead / Leader role in User Acquisition or PPC, with Google Ads as your core, deeply hands-on channel
Experience driving web-based paid acquisition (traffic → landing → subscription), not primarily mobile app-install UA
Full-cycle people management experience - hiring, developing, and managing a team, not just individual performance execution
Experience managing large budgets at team level ($1M+/mo aggregate)
Track record of scaling ad budgets multiple times over (e.g. 4-6x within 1-2 years)
Ability to combine hands-on campaign work with strategic planning and people management - this is not a purely strategic, hands-off role
Strong analytical skills: attribution, funnel analysis, cohort thinking, unit economics
Experience building or owning automation/martech systems for acquisition, with genuine interest in AI-driven tooling and workflows.
Nice to have:
Experience with subscription business models, ideally on an AI/SaaS product
Personal experience launching an ad channel from zero, ideally on Google Ads
Experience across multiple Google Ads formats: GDN, Performance Max, Dynamic/Discovery, Search
Experience with additional channels such as Bing Ads or video/CTV formats
Experience implementing predictive metrics (e.g. pLTV) and using analytics to optimize acquisition.
We offer:
Real ownership of LTV and P&L for your acquisition function - not just a media budget to spend, but a business outcome to run
Build an AI-first UA function and own the martech stack - automate the routine, spend your head on hypotheses and scale
Work with large aggregate budgets and technically complex tasks in an international company
Direct influence on company-level growth strategy, working side-by-side with the GM
A team and function to build and scale - hire, shape, and grow it your way
Fast decision-making and diverse projects with measurable impact
Flexibility in approaches - no processes for the sake of processes
Competitive compensation package + regular performance reviews
Flexible schedule, option to work remotely or from the office
Respect for work-life balance (vacation and sick days included)
Corporate events, gifts, and additional medical insurance
Compensation for professional training and conferences.
