Head of VIP - Asia

You will lead VIP growth across Asia while coaching and developing relationship managers. You will personally manage strategic private-client relationships, originate new business, develop referral partnerships, and create regional events and growth initiatives. You will monitor commercial performance, improve the client experience, and ensure client activity follows applicable compliance and risk frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop VIP relationship managers across Asia
• Build the operating model for regional VIP growth, including territory coverage, segmentation, referrals, events, and reporting
• Own regional growth, net deposits, client assets, trading volume, retention, and revenue performance
• Build a pipeline of qualified high-value clients through outreach, referrals, introducers, family offices, trading firms, OTC desks, miners, project treasuries, and traders
• Identify regional market dynamics, competitive threats, product gaps, and opportunities
• Own and grow strategic private-client relationships across Asia
• Bring VIP trading, asset management, and other services to market within compliance and risk frameworks
• Develop Kraken's presence in VIP trading and investor communities
• Lead VIP dinners, trader meetups, conference events, and partner activations
• Build and manage introducer and referral partnerships
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Compliance, Banking, Client Service, and Operations on regional growth initiatives

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in VIP relationship management, private banking, brokerage, private-client sales, account management, or business development
• Meaningful experience in crypto or digital assets
• Demonstrated people leadership and coaching experience
• Strong personal network among Asian crypto HNWIs, traders, family offices, OTC desks, funds, or trading communities
• Proven ability to originate and convert new business
• Deep knowledge of crypto market structure and trading solutions, including spot, margin, futures, OTC, lending, tokenized equities, and yield/earn products
• Commercial judgment and KPI management experience
• Native or near-native Mandarin and fluent English
• Ability to operate across regulated Asian jurisdictions
• Willingness to travel up to 30% across the region
