Head Track and Cross Country Coach
JOB SUMMARY:
Greensboro College, an NCAA Division III institution in Greensboro, North Carolina, is accepting applications from qualified candidates to serve as the Head Coach of Cross Country and Track.
This position is responsible for recruiting and building a track roster and coaching the cross-country team during the 2026-27 academic year. We anticipate track competing during the 2027-28 academic year.
The head coach's roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Recruit qualified student-athletes and consistently communicate recruiting strategies and roster numbers to the Director of Athletics with a goal of fielding a track team for the 2027-28 year.
- Develop and implement training plans focused on skill development, growth, and performance.
- Maintain a safe training environment and enforce risk-management protocols
- Mentor student-athletes in academic progress, personal conduct, and leadership
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented culture
- Manage program budget, purchasing, and financial procedures in accordance with college policies to ensure stewardship of resources
- Coordinate travel arrangements, itineraries, and event logistics, transporting student-athletes as needed
- Supervise assistant coaches, volunteers, and student workers
- Ensure adherence to Greensboro College, conference, and national governing-body regulations
- Fully participate in department meetings, campus events, and community outreach
- Collaborate with athletics staff and campus partners to support program operations
- Submits requested departmental forms in a timely manner
- Develop fundraising strategies to enhance the overall student-athlete experience
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
