Health and Safety Coordinator

Open 31d

Are you up for the challenge of standardizing health and safety practices across regions, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in every aspect of our international operations?

The role

At Euro Pool System (EPS), we’re proud of our reusable folding crates that keep the supply chain moving in a sustainable way. But behind the crates, there’s a young and dedicated SHEQ team making sure everything runs safely, sustainably, and with top-notch quality.

We’re not the “SHEQ police” 🚨—we’re problem-solvers and change-drivers 💡. We collaborate closely with colleagues across Europe, helping them work smarter, safer, and more sustainably. Together, we make sure that our products and operations meet the highest standards while caring for the people behind them and the planet we all share.

In this role, you’ll drive the harmonization of SHEQ standards across European sites, focusing on safety, environmental responsibility, and digital innovation. You’ll strengthen safety culture through risk assessments, incident investigations, and consistent practices, while overseeing environmental management, compliance, and sustainability projects.

Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in workplace safety, leveraging your field experience to drive meaningful change?

You’ll lead audits and continuous improvement of SHEQ systems and spearhead the transition to new software—configuring, implementing, and training users. By creating digital dashboards and harmonizing documentation and workflows, you’ll simplify processes and enable data-driven insights. Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with regional teams, share best practices, and support European initiatives that advance SHEQ and sustainability.

We’re looking for a SHEQ Coordinator (Safety & Environment focus) to join our team at the Central Office in Rijswijk, supporting our European operations with a strong emphasis on safety management, environmental performance, and digital transformation.

You

You have great adaptability and can navigate in dynamic international environments and embraces change management initiatives with ease. Integrity is paramount, as we require someone who upholds the highest ethical standards in all endeavors. Additionally, tenacity, combined with analytical ability and the capacity to withstand stress, is something you possess, along with being a self-starter and a genuine team player who thrives in collaborative settings.

Further:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science (e.g. Hogere Veiligheidskunde) or a Master’s degree in Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (Belgium).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a comparable SHEQ or HSE role.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards (ISO 9001 is a plus).
  • Experience with environmental management, risk analysis, and incident prevention.
  • Excellent communication skills – you’re not someone who stays in the background, but someone who enjoys engaging with colleagues, facilitating discussions, and motivating others to act.
  • Strong command of English (Dutch is an advantage).
  • Analytical, proactive, and able to navigate a dynamic international (European) environment.
  • Digital mindset — you enjoy exploring IT tools, creating dashboards, and helping colleagues learn to work in smarter, data-driven ways.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe (up to 15%)

Our offer
The position of Health and Safety Coordinator at Euro Pool System offers you a lot of freedom and room for your own input. In addition to these elements, we also offer you:

  • A role where you’re not just following procedures, but shaping how Safety, Environment, and Digital SHEQ tools add value in our business.
  • A competitive salary and Good pension scheme.
  • The option for a 32-hour workweek.
  • 25 vacation days per year (based on fulltime employment).
  • Working on circular solutions within an enthusiastic and ambitious team.
  • The freedom to bring your ideas to life and influence how we work across Europe.
  • To be part of a team dedicated to promoting sustainability and circularity, ensuring operations align with ecological principles and long-term viability.

If you're ready to lead from the frontlines, driving meaningful change and ensuring the safety of our organization, we want you on board!
