Job description

The Health & Safety Supervisor ensures a safe, secure, and compliant environment for guests, employees, and visitors. In a busy hotel setting, this role focuses on preventing accidents, enforcing safety standards, and maintaining compliance with local regulations and brand policies.

Key responsibilities

1. Safety compliance & policies
Ensure the hotel complies with Egyptian health & safety laws and Accor standards
Develop, implement, and update HSE policies and procedures
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across all departments

2. Risk assessment
Identify workplace hazards (kitchens, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.)
Perform risk assessments and recommend corrective actions
Monitor high-risk areas such as fire systems, pools, and kitchens

3. Training & awareness
Conduct safety induction training for new employees
Organize fire drills and emergency response exercises
Promote safety awareness campaigns among staff

4. Incident management
Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses
Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures
Maintain records of all safety-related incidents

5. Emergency preparedness
Ensure fire safety systems are operational (alarms, extinguishers, exits)
Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures
Act as a key contact during emergencies

6. Hygiene & health control
Monitor food safety practices (HACCP compliance)
Ensure proper sanitation in kitchens and public areas
Work closely with housekeeping and F&B departments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or diploma) in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in hospitality or hotel safety
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety, risk assessment, and emergency procedures
  • Good communication skills (Arabic & English)
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Additional information

  • Experience is an asset
  • Prior experience working with Opera Cloud or a related system
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
