Summary of Position
A Health & Benefits (H&B) Compliance Officer should demonstrate commitment to delivering distinctive service. This position will be responsible for ensuring the department's policies and procedures are documented and comply with applicable federal regulations and state statutes and laws. It will serve as the department's liaison with regulatory examiners and external auditors. The H&B Compliance Officer will meet with business prospects and current clients regarding compliance-related needs and provide education and critical regulatory updates to associates in the Health & Benefits group. When necessary, this associate will help resolve service issues to minimize client impact.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide distinctive service to clients and prospects, in person and over the telephone. Respond to client inquiries and satisfactorily resolve client issues. Support firm-wide achievement of the three-ring standard (all phones answered by a live person within three rings).
- Ensure the department's internal policies and procedures are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
- Implement and audit procedures as it relates to HIPAA Privacy and Security for Health & Benefits accounts and services.
- Monitor regulatory changes to benefit products and services. Work with Health & Benefits associate to facilitate implementation of operational and administerial changes.
- Serve as primary contact for annual regulatory examination and internal/external audits. Provide direction and information, as requested.
- Compile and distribute compliance reports and related information for various monthly and quarterly department meetings.
- Conduct a quarterly audit of new employer accounts and plans.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME), providing guidance and support to associates and business partners with compliance-related questions or concerns.
- Meet all the client's financial needs, both business and personal, and refer clients to other specialty areas such as Trust, Investments, Insurance, Treasury Management, etc. as appropriate.
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure delivery of distinctive service.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
