Health Care Aide

Full time, part time, casual roles available days and evenings for new opening.

Hourly Rate - $26.00 - $29.28

The Opportunity:

As a Health Care Aide at Chartwell, you’ll provide compassionate, hands-on support that helps residents live with dignity, comfort, and independence. Your care, empathy, and commitment will create a safe, welcoming environment where residents and families feel at home.

What You’ll Do

• Assist residents with personal care, including hygiene, grooming, mobility, and meals

• Provide support with daily living activities such as laundry, housekeeping, and dining service

• Administer medications in line with residence policies and procedures

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for residents, staff, and visitors

• Build positive relationships with residents and their families through empathy and respect

• Follow all health, safety, and infection control procedures, reporting hazards promptly

What You’ll Bring

• Secondary school completion required; certification as a PSW, HCA, or DSW preferred

• Previous experience in personal care, food service, or hospitality an asset

• Strong communication skills with the ability to follow directions clearly

• Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting seniors

• Team player with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and carrying

• Must be in good physical and mental health

• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment and follow safety protocols

• Flexibility to respond to emergency situations when needed

• Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
