Health Information Management (HIM) Manager
SCHEDULE: Full-time; 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday
The Health Information Management Manager plans, supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the Department of Health Information Services in accordance with professional ethics and the rules and regulations of the State and Federal government in order to provide timely and quality services to Administration, Medical Staff, patients, families and other organizations associated with this health care system. Primary Functions include clerical, chart completion, coding, monitoring and auditing and release of information, while at the same time supervising the department. Collaborates with and provides back up to the HIPAA Privacy Officer.
Must be a registered RHIT, RHIA or currently enrolled in an RHIT/RHIA program with record experience. At least two years of experience in a medical record department preferred. Must have full knowledge of ICD and CPT coding system and State and Federal rules and regulations as they pertain to medical records. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence required. Ability to speak effectively with patients, physicians, visitors, customers and fellow team members required.
