Health Information Management Technician

The Opportunity

Minden Medical Center is seeking a detail-focused Health Information Management (HIM) Technician on an as needed basis to help keep medical records accurate, accessible, and protected through strong patient confidentiality practices. This role supports safe, timely care by maintaining reliable documentation and consistent HIPAA compliance.

Key responsibilities include:
- Scanning and indexing records with appropriate access control
- Auditing charts for completeness and quality, maintaining audit trails
- Data entry and record updates supporting information security and privacy protection

Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six months’ experience in a hospital/physician office preferred
- Strong computer skills and excellent customer service skills
