Health & Safety Coordinator (Contract|Tuas|pharmaceutical)
About our client: Our client is a leading global pharmaceutical company.
About the role: As the Construction Health & Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements are implemented throughout the project lifecycle, from construction and installation to commissioning and qualification. You will work closely with project teams and contractors to maintain a safe working environment, ensure compliance with legal and company safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in construction safety performance.
- Provide HSE guidance and support to construction projects.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure adequate HSE resources are in place.
- Conduct site inspections, contractor audits, and worker safety engagements.
- Review and monitor construction phase safety plans and compliance with regulatory and project requirements.
- Investigate incidents, support root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor project safety KPIs and prepare HSE reports and dashboards.
- Record safety observations and track corrective actions to closure.
- Promote a strong safety culture through training, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and site stakeholders to ensure safe project execution.
About you:
- Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) experience in construction or major project environments.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Workplace Safety & Health legislation and construction safety regulations.
- Experience conducting contractor audits, site inspections, and incident investigations.
- Familiar with construction safety management throughout project execution, including installation, commissioning, and qualification activities.
- Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, or other regulated industrial environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of cleanroom construction and GMP project execution will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
