Oversee Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and ESG compliance for a property consulting firm across India, developing policies, auditing sites, and driving sustainability initiatives.

Location: Bengaluru
About the role: Our client is a leading player in the IPC (International Property Consulting) space.
· Achievement
of EBITA target through HSE deliverables at client sites and internal
operations.
· HSE
Policy and Strategy Development: To develop and implement HSE policies and
strategies. To ensure that HSE policies are aligned with the organization's
overall business objectives and that strategies are developed to continuously
improve HSE performance. To ensure that policies are clear, up-to-date,
and communicated effectively to all employees. They shall also devise effective
mechanisms to check compliance to the HSE policy at different levels and
appraise the leadership team.
· HSE
Performance Review: To measure the effectiveness in reviewing HSE
performance. To review HSE performance reports and take appropriate actions to
address any identified deficiencies.
· HSE
Performance Reporting: Effectiveness in reporting HSE performance to
senior management. To develop comprehensive HSE performance reports that
provide an accurate assessment of the organization's HSE performance. The
report shall contain quantitative parameters as well as qualitative parameters.
The more quantitative parameters, easier it will be for the leadership to
extend their support.
· HSE
Resource Allocation: To advise Operations in allocating resources for HSE
activities. To ensure that resources are allocated for HSE activities at key
sites, including personnel, equipment, and budget.
· HSE
Commitment: To display leadership in HSE. To set a positive example for
employees by prioritizing HSE, promoting a safety culture, and encouraging
employee participation in HSE activities.
· HSE
Compliance: Effectiveness in ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and
standards. To ensure that the organization complies with all relevant
regulations, standards, and best practices. To implement complete HSE
Audit system in each client sites.
· HSE
Communication and Training: Leadership in communicating HSE expectations
and providing training to employees. To ensure lot of coordination between
departments & devise a system that ensures all employees are adequately
trained in HSE practices and that HSE communication is clear and effective.
Intermittent communications from the HSE desk as a driving factor.
· HSE
Strategic Planning: Effectiveness in developing and implementing HSE
strategic plans. TO develop strategic plans that are aligned with the
organization's overall business objectives and that identify specific actions
to improve HSE performance & Implementation of these strategic plans and
appraise the leadership from time to time.
· HSE
Management System Audit: Effectiveness in conducting audits of the
organization's HSE management system. To ensure that audits are conducted
regularly, and that any deficiencies identified are addressed promptly. Audits
can be internal, external or any certification audits.
· HSE
Risk Management: Effectiveness in identifying and managing HSE risks
across the organization. To develop risk management processes that ensure all
significant HSE risks are identified, assessed, and managed appropriately.
Appropriate training strategy to hand hold all employees on risk assessment
techniques shall also be devised.
· HSE
Training and Development: Effectiveness in developing and delivering HSE training
and development programs. TO ensure that all employees receive adequate HSE
training (through internal / external resources) and that the training is
effective in improving HSE performance. To ensure effective HSE risk management
across the organization and continuously improving the organization's HSE
performance.
· To
lead diagnosis and identifying cost saving opportunity around energy, water and
waste and environmental impact. Give advice to the Client on improvements /
evolutions of processes.
· Contributing
to ISO process and system audits and certifications.
· Lead
the organization’s sustainability strategy implementation, ensuring that
business operations and projects align with ESG principles. Lead ESG-related
initiatives across departments, embedding sustainable practices into
operations, supply chains. Advise senior leadership and influence
decision-making on sustainability and ESG matters. Track ESG trends, standards,
and frameworks to maintain industry leadership and compliance.
· Ensure
adherence to ESG regulations, frameworks, and reporting standards such as GRI,
SASB, TCFD, UNGC, CDP, and TNFD for ESG metrics and oversee
assurance and verification of ESG reports. Monitor ESG performance against
targets and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
· Active
participation and Industry interface ability at regional and national level.
Required Qualifications
Education: Degree /
Diploma in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical) or Bachelor’s degree in
sustainability, environmental science, an MBA or advanced ESG certification.
IT Proficiency – MS Office, HRIS & technology solutions.
Experience: An overall experience of 10 -12 + years with not less than 5 years
in similar role in IPC only. Experience with multi-industry HSE, ESG programs, corporate HSE compliance.
