Health System Specialist (Credentials)
About the Position: Serves as Health Systems Specialist (Credentials) at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia who provides support to management by analyzing, evaluating, advising and coordinating all credentials activities. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all data entries and enter information for all privileged providers into the automated credentials database.
Review all incoming provider credentials files.
Conduct primary source verification of the authenticity of the documents in the application package.
Contact current and previous employers to obtain completion of Clinical Reference Questionnaires to assess provider competency.
Work with providers, Department Heads, and Division officers to assist with the online privileging application process.
Utilize a computer to develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, ad hoc reports, documents, graphs and briefing slides.
Assist in the development of local organization regulations, policies, briefs, circulars and pamphlets.
