Health System Specialist

The position is at the full performance level located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) in the Director's Office and will report directly to the Associate Director, Operations.

Under the Associate Director, Operations guidance, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the development of action plans, completion and closure of deficiencies, construction safety rounds, being the COR, and project management for all the services reporting to the AD, Operations. The West Los Angeles campus is a 388-acre campus with a tertiary 191 bed hospital, 200 bed Domiciliary, and 207 Community Living Center beds, as well as outpatient services across multiple buildings on the campus. The campus also has temporary and permanent housing on campus for Veterans. The Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center (SACC) located 17 miles north of West Los Angeles, on a 144-acre campus, provides 30 Community Living Center beds. Outpatient services include primary care, homeless care, mental health, some specialty care, geriatric evaluation and management, and palliative care. The Downtown Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center (LAACC), located 15 miles east of the West Los Angeles campus, also provides primary care, homeless care, mental health, and some specialty care. The system of ambulatory care centers and outpatient clinics handle over 680,000 outpatient visits annually.
