Health Technician
About the Position: This position is located at Fort Drum, New York, located within Guthrie Ambulatory Health Care Clinic, Family Medical Services. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Take and record blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height and weight.
Perform nonprofessional nursing care, appointment clerical functions, and receptionist duties, record keeping tasks associated with patient care and treatment, or a combination of all these functions as required in some of the areas.
Provide individualized care to patients of all ages based upon the physician's medical care plan.
Enter all specimen and patient demographics data into computer.
Receive patients and visitors to the laboratory both in person and on the telephone.
Provide guidance to providers, nurses, and attendants on specimen collection requirements.
Ensure all supplies needed are stocked and ready for use in the phlebotomy room.
Follow universal precautions, and infection control guidelines.
