Health Technician

About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center, Defense Health Agency, Defense Health Network Pacific Rim, San Diego, CA Directorate of Surgery Neurosurgery. This position has both administrative and clinical responsibilities. Administrative responsibilities will require coordination of all the clinic's clerical and administrative activities. Clinical responsibilities related to screening patients prior to medical appointments. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Answers clinic telephones, greets patients, answers patient's questions about appointment time, health benefits, waiting times, clinic services and other general questions not related to diagnosis or treatment.

Prepares and activates the master appointment schedule for the clinic.

Routes consultation forms to the appropriate provider or service.

Administers topical medications.

Operates specialized medical equipment associated with screening clinic patient.

Prepares laboratory, radiology requests and other forms as ordered by providers.
