About the Position: The position serves as a Health Technician (Ophthalmology) in ophthalmic/refractive surgery, providing specialized refractive surgical and perioperative care at a Medical Treatment Facility. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Performs specialized testing on patients referred from Ophthalmology Department who may have significant multiple pathologies.
Utilizes a detailed understanding of anatomy, physiology, ocular disease conditions, and pathology, combined with the technical expertise, to produce high quality diagnostic.
Documents study results on appropriate refractive surgery forms, including a written summary evaluation where indicated. Documents all data completely and on the appropriate forms
Independently performs a wide variety of complex non-invasive ophthalmic studies on patients/research subjects to provide data for pre and post operative testing.
Research studies utilizing complex, specialized, state of the art ophthalmic imagery equipment.
Performs technically critical examinations and reviews consult requests and takes a brief history to identify patient problems.
