Health Technician (Surgical)
About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Surgery, Ophthalmology Service, at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Transport patients from hospital units to the Operating Room assuring safe transportation of the patient.
Check patient chart and identification band for completeness.
Hand instruments to the surgeon during the procedure by anticipating the surgeon's needs.
Assist anesthetist during induction and throughout surgical procedure.
Clean operating room after surgery, removes and dispose of soiled and/or contaminated materials; change linen; wash, disassemble, sterilize, and reassemble instruments.
Test operation of equipment daily to ensure effectiveness and parameters of sterilization are met.
