The post holder will work under the direct supervision of the Registered or Assistant Nurse and with other team members, will uphold and live the NMC Nursing Strategy in order to provide safe and outstanding care to their patient, to the patient bystanders all the time, every time
- Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nursing Staff, will deliver patient care and service which is safe and timely.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and escalate accordingly reflective of the chain of command.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned within his/her scope and ability.
- Support the escort of patients within the clinical setting.
- Support patients with new appointment bookings and other clerical tasks within the clinical setting.
- Transport patient specimens to the lab
- All direct patient care provided by them should be toward adult patients who do not require critical care or high-dependency care, and are not in acute distress, unless they have undergone the necessary training and obtained the necessary advanced competencies through an official competency assessment by the healthcare provider.
- Refuse to undertake any task for which he/she has not been trained and is not competent to undertake.
- Always seek expert help when the demand of care, service or skill, falls outside their capabilities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Ensure nursing support is sought immediately when a patient's condition changes or appears to deteriorate
- Help the Nursing staff to create a positive practice environment that fosters a culture of engagement and empowerment.
- Ensure re-licensure is managed in a timely manner.
Essential: the post holder must
- Be willing to work across departments when necessary
- Manager their own professional DOH re-licensure
- Have a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider qualification
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written)
