Summary
Provides daily living assistance to nursing home residents, including hygiene, feeding, and cleaning tasks under nurse supervision.
JobScope:
The HealthcareAssistant provides support and assistance to the registered and enrolled nursesin the delivery of nursing care to the residents and helps to maintain a clean,safe and comfortable environment for them.
Job functions:
· Helps to maintain a clean, safe and neat environment for theresidents in the nursing home.
· Performs routine cleaning of the ward and other areas andequipment.
· Bathes, changes and feeds the residents.
· Assists residents in their activities of daily living (ADL) suchas personal hygiene, toileting and grooming
· Prepares residents for meals and feeds those that need feeding
· Collects food from kitchen and serves them to the residents.
· Cleans up the place after meal time.
· Makes the bed and changes the bed sheets.
· Accompany residents to hospital when necessary.
· Accompany residents for their outing trips when necessary.
· Scrubs toilets and bathrooms daily
· Sweeps and mops all bedrooms daily
· Empties rubbish, bedpans and urinals
· Maintains the physical environment such as cleaning the windowsand the office
· Responsible for the laundry of the Home.
· To be on rotational shift and on call whenever necessary.
· Any other duties assigned by Supervisors.
