About the Opportunity

Our healthcare client is seeking experienced Customer Service Representatives to support a high-volume Open Enrollment season. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with healthcare call center experience who enjoy helping members understand and navigate their health plan benefits.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can handle a high volume of inbound calls, and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle high-volume inbound calls regarding health plan enrollment, eligibility, and benefits.
  • Educate members on available medical, dental, vision, and supplemental benefit options.
  • Assist with new enrollments, plan changes, and qualifying life event requests.
  • Verify eligibility, enrollment status, and member information.
  • Clearly explain premiums, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Research and resolve enrollment-related concerns and complex inquiries.
  • Escalate sensitive or unresolved issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all member interactions in company systems.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
  • Meet established quality, productivity, attendance, and customer satisfaction metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of recent call center experience.
  • Previous healthcare, health insurance, managed care, Medicare, or open enrollment experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to work in a metric-driven environment with established KPI expectations.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable handling 60-80+ inbound calls per day.
  • Basic computer proficiency and accurate data entry skills.
  • Ability to research and investigate member inquiries effectively.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare-related customer service practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Medicare, grievance and appeals, or service recovery.
  • Experience using Epic.
  • Experience using TalkDesk or similar contact center platforms.
  • Health plan, HMO, PPO, or insurance enrollment experience.

Training Information

Phase 1 Training

Duration: 6 Weeks

Location: Spectrum Training Facility

Address: 8695 Spectrum Center Blvd, San Diego, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

Phase 2 Training

Duration: 1-2 Weeks

Location: Tech Way Facility

During this phase, representatives will begin taking member calls while continuing training support.

Important: Attendance during training is mandatory. Candidates must be able to attend onsite training daily.

Work Schedule

Candidates must be flexible to support business needs.

Potential schedules include:

  • Monday-Friday between 8:00 AM-6:00 PM
  • 11:30 AM-8:00 PM shifts
  • Occasional weekend coverage as needed

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
