The analyst will monitor scheduled data processes, assist with file and data troubleshooting, perform data quality checks, document findings, and help resolve operational issues under the direction of senior team members.

The role will also support reporting and analytics operations while developing knowledge of Verda’s data warehouse, healthcare data sources, business definitions, and reporting ecosystem. Working closely with experienced analysts, this individual will contribute to data analysis, reporting, and process improvement projects and build a foundation for a career in healthcare data and informatics.

This position reports directly to the EDI Manager for administrative and performance management purposes, with a dotted-line functional reporting relationship to the Senior Informatics Analyst for informatics assignments, technical guidance, and development.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with daily monitoring of inbound and outbound EDI files, scheduled interfaces, file transfers, processing jobs, and associated operational alerts.

· Provide first-level troubleshooting for missing, delayed, rejected, or inaccurate files and data; document issues, investigate discrepancies, and escalate complex problems to the EDI Manager or senior staff.

· Support routine file ingestion, extraction, validation, reconciliation, exception tracking, and follow-up with internal teams and external trading partners.

· Assist with research and resolution of healthcare data interchange issues, including enrollment, claims, encounter, and other payer-related data transactions.

· Maintain accurate processing logs, operational checklists, issue tickets, mapping references, and procedures to support timely and repeatable EDI operations.

· Support daily Informatics operations by monitoring data warehouse loads, scheduled reports, dashboards, and data refresh processes; flag failures or unusual results.

· Perform data validation, basic SQL queries, reconciliations, and quality checks to identify missing, duplicate, inconsistent, or out-of-range data.

· Learn Verda’s data warehouse structure, data sources, healthcare terminology, reporting tools, and business rules through assigned work and mentoring.

· Assist with building, maintaining, testing, and documenting reports, dashboards, datasets, and ad hoc analyses under the guidance of the Senior Informatics Analyst.

· Gather and clarify business questions, organize findings, and communicate trends, exceptions, and results to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

· Collaborate with EDI, Informatics, IT, and business teams to resolve recurring data issues and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

· Follow established security, privacy, data handling, and documentation procedures, including safeguarding protected health information (PHI).

· Participate in team meetings, knowledge-sharing, training, and special projects as assigned.

Professional Competencies

· Analytical thinking, curiosity, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving.

· Strong communication, documentation, listening, and collaboration skills.

· Willingness to learn from senior analysts, seek feedback, and take ownership of assigned work.

· Ability to prioritize routine monitoring tasks while responding appropriately to time-sensitive issues.
