Healthcare IT Project Manager

Job Summary:

The IT Healthcare Consultant - Project Manager will lead and manage projects focused on Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) and their replacement systems within the Bureau of Medicaid Systems. This role involves overseeing project execution, ensuring compliance with state requirements, and coordinating with stakeholders to deliver effective healthcare IT solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee MMIS system projects and replacement initiatives.
• Coordinate project activities and resources to meet timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project success.
• Ensure compliance with state policies and contractual requirements.
• Provide regular project status updates to management and stakeholders.
• Support transition from fully onsite to hybrid work schedule as directed by management.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in healthcare IT project management or consulting.
• Knowledge of Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS).
• Ability to work onsite fully for initial 30-90 days.
• Residency in South Carolina or willingness to relocate at own expense prior to start.
• Security clearance as required by the position.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with state healthcare systems and Medicaid operations.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
• Previous experience working in government or public health sectors.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.

Special Considerations:

• Candidate must provide a valid Right to Represent and complete required documentation.
• Withdrawn candidates cannot be replaced.
• Sub vendor usage allowed only one level deep with prior approval.
• Fully onsite work required for the first 30-90 days, transitioning to hybrid schedule at manager's discretion.
• Candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to South Carolina before starting.

Scheduling:

• Full-time position with a 40-hour work week.
• Initial fully onsite work for 30-90 days, then hybrid schedule as determined by management.
• Contract duration is 12 months with possibility for extension.
