Heavy Diesel Fitter
Primary Objective
- Check and fix diesel engines, transmissions, and other parts using special tools to find problems and get them working again.
- Conduct regular maintenance and safety checks on trucks and heavy equipment to prevent breakdowns.
- Remove, repair, and install engine parts following correct specifications.
- Find and fix fuel system issues, including injectors and pumps, while keeping the system clean and safe.

- Inspect and repair air brake systems to make sure they meet safety rules.
- Repair and maintain hydraulic systems like pumps and cylinders to keep machines operating properly.
- Perform field repairs and respond to emergency breakdowns using a service truck.
- Perform on-site field repairs and mobile service calls, including emergency roadside assistance for fleet vehicles and heavy machinery.
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure it works properly and record results.
- Repair cooling and heating systems to prevent overheating and keep operators comfortable.
- Clean and prepare components for inspection using solvent and pressure wash procedures while dispose waste safely following regulations.
- Ensure safety rules, report hazards, and complete required safety checks.
- Help improve work processes by identifying common problems and suggesting solutions to reduce downtime.

Experience Requirement
- 5+ years' experience on heavy trucks, construction equipment, or industrial diesel engines for junior roles diagnosing and rebuilding diesel engines, transmissions and hydraulic systems.
Education Qualification
- Certificate or Diploma in Diesel Technology, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, or equivalent trade school qualification
