The company is a renowned national leader in the transport equipment rental industry– renting quality trucks, utes and trailers to customers across Australia with 24/7 customer support. The company commenced business in 1994 in Perth (WA), and has to date established branches across Australia, including Brisbane, Townsville, Sydney, Melbourne and Darwin. They offer customers access to the largest range of heavy-duty transport rental equipment across Australia, from dual cab ute hire to truck hire.

The Role…
This role is focussed on performing preventive maintenance and repairs to the Company’s fleet vehicles to the highest professional standards, in accordance with directives from the Workshop Coordinator and company policies. It is important for the incumbent to perform all set tasks and duties in a timely and efficient manner and show pride and attention to detail in all their work. This role is based at their Brisbane branch, located in Wacol.

The role involves the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Ensure fleet vehicles are serviced and repaired to a high professional standard; includes completing a service checklist for each vehicle.
  • Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance to all types of company trailing equipment.
  • Using your experience as a tradesman to support company trade apprentices to enhance their skills.
  • Assist with the drop off and pick up of trucks, trailers, parts and freight deliveries if required.
  • Assist with all housekeeping duties, including emptying of bins, cleaning of workbenches and floor sweeping if required to maintain a safe working environment if required.
  • Be observant in reporting any damage to workshop and operational staff that may not have been identified for recharging.
  • Assist staff to ensure all incoming parts for stock are checked off against invoice for correct supply and quantity and placed into stock if required.
  • Attend to emergency breakdowns if required by senior workshop staff using the company field service unit.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant Acts, Legal demands, Ethical standards & OH&S requirements.
The Ideal Candidate…
To be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Technician.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Display diligence and dependability, along with a friendly and professional attitude towards work.
  • HR, HC, MC or Forklift Licence (advantageous)
