Description

Inspecting the
performance of trucks, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy
equipment.

Using computerized
testing equipment to diagnose flaws.

Adjusting and
replacing defective parts, repairing broken equipment
parts
-
Cleaning,
lubricating, and performing routine maintenance on heavy-duty
vehicles
-
Cleaning and
maintenance of machine attachments such as winches, blades,
and side booms
-
When necessary,
perform significant repair work.
-
Notifying
management of damaged or faulty
equipment.
-
Inspect and
troubleshoot equipment to detect faults and
malfunctions.
-
To determine the
repair required, use computerized and other testing equipment
to diagnose defects or malfunctions.
-
Adjust the
equipment and repair or replace any broken
parts.
-
Maintain
maintenance records and
documentation.
-
Test repaired
equipment to ensure proper operation and that work meet
manufacturer specifications.

Work on heavy
trucks to repair them.

Working tools and
service attachments
-
Emission control
systems must be tested and repaired.
Requirements
-
GED or high school
diploma
-
Heavy equipment
mechanic certification.
-
Work experience as
a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic is
required.

Knowledge of
computer testing technologies.

Possibility of
lifting heavy machinery.
-
Expertise in diesel
engines and construction equipment.
-
Ability to work
after hours if necessary.

Excellent
communication abilities.
