Heavy Equipment Operator
Summary
Operates heavy machinery like loaders and excavators, performs safety checks, and maintains equipment in an outdoor industrial setting.
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Heavy equipment may include wheel loaders, excavators; screening, crushing, and material conveying systems; street sweepers; skid steers; and other similar equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, inspect, and secure all equipment and perform minor preventative and other maintenance on his/her equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.
- Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Perform minor preventative and other maintenance.
- Clean equipment as scheduled or necessary.
- Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management
Basic Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years experience using a wheel loader/front-end loader
- Willingness and ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments, including working outdoors
- Willingness and ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, steel toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls and respirator
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in using an excavator, skid steer loader, and other related heavy equipment
Hourly Rate: $20-24

Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.
Sick leave – 24 hours; Observed Holidays – 2 floating days and 8 paid holiday; Vacation – 112 hours.
