Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic

About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. Make any replacement necessary where repair is found impractical.

Drive vehicles as required in diagnosing malfunctions and placing in an operable condition for pre-inspection.

Utilize hoists, jacks, overhead bridge crane, and assistance of other workers when heavier items are encountered.

Use technical manuals, illustrations, specifications, diagrams, schematics, and similar guides to make repairs and modifications.

Perform pre-shop analysis of heavy mobile and engineering equipment to determine maintenance needed on equipment and make repairs.

Responsible for performing the full scope of maintenance, repair, rebuild and/or modification and initial inspection of new, state-of-the-art, lifesaving armored vehicles.
